Welcome
to the new website. Well, actually it’s a “relaunch” of my
website with a new design and a lot of new sections.
We are trying hard to make this an interesting site that you want to come and
visit often and several new sections are designed with that goal in mind. I’ll
be adding some of my thoughts on the world situation, what new and interesting
guns I am using and some info on what I have been up to in the commentary
section. It’s not a blog exactly, as I will not update it on a schedule,
but when I feel there is something to say and when I have time. But, that should
be often, so check in regularly. I hope it will make you laugh and I know it
will make you think. I will be covering the things I am interested in, that
is guns, shooting, hunting. Don’t look for updates on what Britney Spears
is up to or my thoughts on the latest kids Angelina has spit out. This is the
real world. I’ll talk about my most recent travels and probably have a
gripe or two about the airlines. But, I’ll also cover the newest in guns,
optics and ammo and a lot of that information will be here before it appears
anywhere else in the world.
We are also adding in a tips section where I’ll
offer some how-to advice on guns, hunting, handloading, gunsmithing, shooting
and maybe even on the better single barrel bourbons. Because this is my web
site, it’s an open forum and will include anything I think is important.
It’s always open to suggestions, so feel free to write with questions
or thoughts.
This new format also coincides with the release of a new book. It’s the
revised edition of Big Bucks the Benoit Way. Big Bucks
The Benoit Way was my first book and even after a decade it was still selling
well. But, the publisher decided it had been hanging around too long and wanted
a fresh look. So we revised it with new color photographs and a bonus chapter.
It also has a new foreword and introduction. This book brings you up to date
on what the Benoits have been doing for the past decade. It is full of photos
of huge whitetails and the new chapter has up to date information on what they
have learned about taking big bucks in the past ten years. If you buy both it
and Benoit Bucks the shipping is free.
One of the next books I am working on is a venison book. This will detail everything
you need to know from the time the deer hits the ground until you have it on
the table and ready to eat. The book will explain field dressing and home processing
in a way anybody can understand. But, it also recognizes that after a while
the same old thing gets boring, so it will cover how to make sausage and jerky
as well as steaks and chops. The second half will have venison recipes from
some of the top names in the hunting world. That includes famous writers, top
industry people and the best recipes from some of the top hunting lodges in
the country.
Your recipe can join them. Check out the Recipes section
for details on this contest. Please submit your recipe and if we choose it,
you will be included in the book along with the top hunters in the world. You
will also win an autographed book and a signed copy of Big Bucks the Benoit
Way II. You may also have the recipe published on this web site with your favorite
hunting photo.
Remember, this new web site is a work in progress and I would like you to be
part of that progress. Please feel free to offer suggestions on what you would
like to see here.
And remember to shoot straight and carry a sharp knife.
